释义 |
HistoryA post office called Munnerlyn was established in 1880, and remained in operation until 1960.[2] It is unclear whether the community is named after Colonel John D. Munnerlyn, a local attorney, or after Charles James Munnerlyn, a Georgia politician.[3] Early variant names were "Lumpkins Station", "Thomas", and "Thomas Station".[1] References1. ^1 {{GNIS|326412|name=Munnerlyn}} {{Burke County, Georgia}}{{coord missing|Georgia (U.S. state)}}{{GeorgiaUS-geo-stub}}2. ^{{cite web | url=https://www.postalhistory.com/postoffices.asp?state=GA | title=Post Offices | publisher=Jim Forte Postal History | accessdate=24 March 2019}} 3. ^{{cite book | url=http://www.kenkrakow.com/gpn/m.pdf| title=Georgia Place-Names: Their History and Origins | publisher=Winship Press | author=Krakow, Kenneth K. | year=1975 | location=Macon, GA | pages=154 | isbn=0-915430-00-2}} 1 : Unincorporated communities in Burke County, Georgia |
