She studied at Ashgabat Girl's High School ({{lang-tk|Aşgabat Kız lisesi}}). In 2007, she cooperated with the producer Nikolaý Ýakimow for the release of album {{lang|tk|Seňki däl}}. This was followed by her album {{lang|tk|Söýgi wagty geldi}}. The nationalistic track {{lang|tk|Eziz Watanym}} ('My Precious Homeland') from the album was heavily promoted on local radio stations. Other nationalistic songs include {{lang|tk|Öňe, Diňe Öňe}}, {{lang|tk|Türkmenistanym}} and so forth. However Mähri remains best known for her song {{lang|tk|Aýterek Günterek}}.
