Naima Ilyas al-Ayyubi was the first female lawyer in Egypt.^[1] In 1933 she became the first woman to complete a Bachelor’s Degree in the Faculty of Law at an Egyptian university (namely, Egyptian University).^[2]^[1]

She was first in her class at the end of year exams in her first year at the Faculty of Law.^[1] She graduated with honors.^[1] After her graduation she went on to study for a Belgian doctorate.^[3]^[1]
