He is best known for his roles in Shudh Desi Romance, Raees, Fukrey Returns, Bhor[1] and III Smoking Barrels.[2] Early life and educationNeel was born on 13{{Nbsp}}October{{Nbsp}}1984 in his maternal home at village Miyanpur Sanwat, Banda in Shahjahanpur[1] District of Uttar Pradesh. After completing his high school and intermediate education from Ram Dulari Inter College[2], Bisalpur, he acquired a Bachelor of Arts degree from Govt. P. G. Collage[3] Bisalpur, affiliated to Rohilkhand University, Bareilly. Neel was interested in photography, singing, theatre and Martial Arts from a very young age and becoming an actor was his only dream. He went to Shahjahanapur[1] to join theatre group of famous Bollywood actor Rajpal Yadav. He also met Coronation Art & Theater[4] head Zarif Malik Anand. In the year 2003 he met theater artist Dilip Anand who became his theater guru later. Neel was active in Shahjahanpur theater[5] from 2003 to 2008. During this time, he launched theater group in Bisalpur with Anand’s help. With his guidance Neel prepared for Baharatendu Natya Academy (BNA) admission test and finally left his Master’s Degree studies to join BNA in 2008. After graduating in drama from BNA, Neel was sent to pursue Film Appreciation Course from Film and Television Institute of India, Pune in the year 2010. Acting careerDuring his stay at Pune, Neel decided to pursue acting on screen. He shifted his base to Mumbai and started doing small roles in Bollywood films. He has appeared in films like Monsoon Shootout, Raees, Action Jackson, Fukrey Returns, Shoodh Desi Romance, Sanju and others. Neel’s work was appreciated by critic as a dumb guy in the multilingual film III Smoking Barrels.[6] He has played an important role in upcoming Bollywood film Manikarnika. Bhor[7] and Chhichhore are two of his upcoming ventures. Besides acting on the big screen, Neel has worked on many short films like Ram Gopal Varma-directed The Foreigner,[8] award-winning short film Achhe Din[9] and Umeed[10] Naleesh Neel has worked in two{{Nbsp}}popular ad campaigns on Indian economy Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, 5{{Nbsp}}rs ki maut,[11] The case video Must Go On[12] and the NGO advertisement No to Violence, Yes to Love.[13] He has also worked for television commercials like SAMCO[14] and Kisan Pipe[15] with Amitabh Bachchan[15]. Apart from doing films Neel regularly performs in theater under his own production SRS Entertainment. He is currently performing in the fifty-five-minute{{Nbsp}}long solo play Ek Haseena Paanch Diwane[16] based on Harishankar Parsai’s story. Personal lifeNeel[17] belongs to a middle-class family from a village in the state of Uttar Pradesh. He has one{{Nbsp}}brother and two{{Nbsp}}sisters. Fond of music, Neel plays guitar in his leisure time. Gymnastics has been his favourite sport since childhood and he still depends largely on it for his fitness.
