The New Center for Psychoanalysis is a psychoanalytic research, training, education facility that is affiliated with the American Psychoanalytic Association and the International Psychoanalytic Association. It was formed in 2005 from the merger of two older psychoanalytic organizations, the Los Angeles Psychoanalytic Society and Institute (LAPSI) and the Southern California Psychoanalytic Institute and Society (SCPIS). Major psychoanalysts who have been associated with the NCP or its predecessor organizations include Otto Fenichel, Franz Alexander[1] Robert Stoller, Leo Rangell[2][3], Richard Green (sexologist), Ralph Greenson, Samuel Eistenstein[4], James Grotstein[5], as well as historian Peter Loewenberg and legal scholar Elyn Saks.
