The station was named 'Newnham' when it opened on 13 August 1864, being renamed 'Newnham Bridge' in May 1873.[2] It closed on 1 August 1962.[1] Unusually, the main station building was at rail level. From there, passengers used a foot crossing over the passing loop and running line to reach the single platform.[3] References1. ^1 2 {{cite web|url=http://pastscape.org/hob.aspx?hob_id=502845|title=Newnham Bridge Station|work=Historic England|accessdate=19 March 2017}} 2. ^{{cite book |last=Butt |first=R.V.J. |title=The Directory of Railway Stations |year=1995 |publisher=Patrick Stephens Ltd |location=Yeovil |isbn=1-85260-508-1 |page=170}} 3. ^{{cite book|title=Branch Lines around Cleobury Mortimer|first1=Vic|last1=Mitchell|first2=Keith|last2=Smith|at=figs. 30-31|publisher=Middleton Press|year=2007|isbn=9781906008185|oclc=176923876}} Further reading
