The NGC 4065 Group is a group of galaxies[9][10][5][11] located about {{convert|100|Mpc|Mly|abbr=on|lk=on|order=flip}}[12][9] in the constellation Coma Berenices.[13][14] The group's brightest member is NGC 4065[11][15][16][1] and located in the Coma Supercluster.[11][17][18][19][20][21][12][22]

The group is dominated by mostly elliptical galaxies[13][17] with only 15 to 31 percent of the members being spiral galaxies.[11][1]

X-ray emission

The NGC 4065 Group exhibits bimodal X-ray emission with one peak on the galaxies NGC 4061 and NGC 4065 and the other on NGC 4066.[1]

Structure

The NGC 4065 Group appears to consist of two subgroups known as UZC-CG 156 and UZC-CG 157[12][1] which are indistinguishable by velocity.[12]

However, White et al. suggests that the group contains three subgroups[23] with subgroups A and C[23] being centered on NGC 4065 and NGC 4095 respectively,[13] and subgroup B which consists of the galaxies NGC 4086 and NGC 4090.[23]

At the center of the group lie the elliptical galaxies NGC 4061 and NGC 4065.[1]

Nearby groups

The NGC 4065 Group is located near the Leo Cluster[12][11] and is part of a bridge of galaxies that connects the Leo Cluster to the Coma Cluster.[11][15][24]
