Nitin Khanna[1] (born March 18, 1971) is an Indian-born entrepreneur settled in Portland, Oregon, United States. He is the chairman of MergerTech,[2] an international Mergers and acquisitions Advisory firm. Prior to this, he co-founded Saber Corp. in 1998, which he later sold to EDS. Khanna took the leadership of its government business operations until EDS' acquisition by HP in 2009.

Early life and education

Khanna completed his early education at The Lawrence School, Sanawar, and obtained his bachelor's and master's in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University, Portland.

Career

Khanna[3] has been the CEO of MergerTech since its inception in 2009.

Prior to this, Khahenna co-founded a tech organization named Saber Corp,[4] which grew to become the largest standalone provider of state government solutions in US in 1998. He helped it grow to 1200 employees and over $120MM in revenue by 2007, when he sold it to EDS for $460MM. Khanna then took over the leadership of EDS' government business operation. A year later, when he departed from EDS (after HP's acquisition of EDS), the company stood at $300MM in revenue and 1500 employees.

During his tenure with Saber, Khanna managed eight mergers and acquisition transactions, and gained an experience that helped him start MergerTech.

Prior to Saber, Khanna worked with Oracle Corporation and held a number of senior positions.

In 2015, Khanna ventured into the rapidly legalizing, $100BB recreational and medical cannabis industry in the US. He started Cura Cannabis Solutions and has grown it to be counted among the largest cannabis oil providers in Portland, Oregon.{{cn|date=February 2018}}

Khanna has recently become involved with Indian tech, and invested $5 million in iSOS Inc.,[5] a productivity enhancement solutions software company that offers features like real-time tracking, smart attendance, inventory management, cashless transactions, and security management. iSOS was named as the "Innovative Idea of the Year" by Tiecon, Chandigarh 2017.[6]

Khanna also sits on the boards of Vendscreen, Freewire Broadband, TiE Oregon (non-profit) and the Classic Wines Auction (non-profit), and advises over half a dozen companies in the mobile, social, and cloud spaces.

Khanna stepped down as CEO of Select cannabis oils and in came Cameron Forni (co-founder of the entity).[7]. Select Cannabis has since expanded its leadership team. Select, according to BDS analytics, sports one of the highest market shares in California and Oregon, whilst it expands into new states as allowed [8]. Cura ranks amongst the top 50 as America's fastest growing companies [9].
