NCAA tournamentThe Huskies have appeared in three NCAA Tournaments. Their combined record is 2–3.[1]
LeWang CupSince 1981, the winner of the annual match between NIU and UW-Milwaukee claims the John LeWang Memorial Cup. The trophy is named in honor of former NIU coach John LeWang, who was killed in a car accident prior to the 1981 season. LeWang came to NIU as head coach in 1980 following his time as an assistant at UW-Milwaukee and died in a car accident after his first season leading the Huskies.[2] Match results{{Sports rivalry series table| legend_tie_text = | cols = 2 | series_summary = yes | format = compact | team1 = NIU | team1style = {{NCAA color cell|NIU Huskies}} | team2 = Milwaukee | team2style = {{NCAA color cell|Milwaukee Panthers}} | 1981 | DeKalb, IL | NIU | 1 | Milwaukee | 3 | 1982 | Milwaukee, WI | NIU | 3 | Milwaukee | 4 | 1983 | DeKalb, IL | NIU | 3 | Milwaukee | 2 | 1984 | Milwaukee, WI | NIU | 2 | Milwaukee | 4 | 1985 | DeKalb, IL | NIU | 3 | Milwaukee | 1 | 1986 | Milwaukee, WI | NIU | 1 | Milwaukee | 4 | 1987 | DeKalb, IL | NIU | 1 | Milwaukee | 0 | 1988 | Milwaukee, WI | NIU | 1 | Milwaukee | 2 | 1989 | Milwaukee, WI | NIU | 1 | Milwaukee | 2 | 1990 | DeKalb, IL | NIU | 2 | Milwaukee | 2 | 1991 | Milwaukee, WI | NIU | 5 | Milwaukee | 1 | 1992 | DeKalb, IL | NIU | 0 | Milwaukee | 3 | 1993 | Milwaukee, WI | NIU | 1 | Milwaukee | 3 | 1994 | DeKalb, IL | NIU | 3 | Milwaukee | 2 | 1995 | Milwaukee, WI | NIU | 1 | Milwaukee | 2 | 1996 | DeKalb, IL | NIU | 0 | Milwaukee | 1 | 1997 | Milwaukee, WI | NIU | 3 | Milwaukee | 2 | 1998 | DeKalb, IL | NIU | 2 | Milwaukee | 0 | 1999 | Milwaukee, WI | NIU | 3 | Milwaukee | 1 | 2000 | DeKalb, IL | NIU | 2 | Milwaukee | 4 | 2001 | Milwaukee, WI | NIU | 0 | Milwaukee | 3 | 2002 | DeKalb, IL | NIU | 0 | Milwaukee | 1 | 2003 | Madison, WI | NIU | 0 | Milwaukee | 2 | 2004 | Milwaukee, WI | NIU | 0 | Milwaukee | 1 | 2005 | DeKalb, IL | NIU | 0 | Milwaukee | 1 | 2006 | Milwaukee, WI | NIU | 1 | Milwaukee | 0 | 2007 | DeKalb, IL | NIU | 1 | Milwaukee | 0 | 2008 | Milwaukee, WI | NIU | 2 | Milwaukee | 2 | 2009 | DeKalb, IL | NIU | 5 | Milwaukee | 1 | 2010 | Milwaukee, WI | NIU | 5 | Milwaukee | 1 | 2011 | Milwaukee, WI | NIU | 0 | Milwaukee | 1 | 2012 | Evanston, IL | NIU | 0 | Milwaukee | 1 | 2013 | DeKalb, IL | NIU | 0 | Milwaukee | 1 | 2014 | Milwaukee, WI | NIU | 2 | Milwaukee | 2 | 2015 | DeKalb, IL | NIU | 1 | Milwaukee | 2 | 2016 | Milwaukee, WI | NIU | 2 | Milwaukee | 1 }} RosterAs of August 2017.[3]{{Football squad start}}{{Football squad player|no=0 |pos=GK|nat=USA|name=Drew Donnally}}{{Football squad player|no=1 |pos=GK|nat=GER|name=Christoph Koninger}}{{Football squad player|no=2 |pos=MF|nat=FRA|name=Jerome Roche}}{{Football squad player|no=3 |pos=MF|nat=USA|name=Noel Lopez}}{{Football squad player|no=4 |pos=MF|nat=USA|name=Giovanni Garcia}}{{Football squad player|no=5 |pos=MF|nat=USA|name=Christian Molina}}{{Football squad player|no=6 |pos=FW|nat=WAL|name=Alex Welch}}{{Football squad player|no=7 |pos=FW|nat=USA|name=Giovanni Pacheco}}{{Football squad player|no=8 |pos=DF|nat=USA|name=Nixon Urrutia}}{{Football squad player|no=9 |pos=MF|nat=USA|name=Kevin Rodriguez}}{{Football squad player|no=10|pos=MF|nat=GER|name=Max Voss}}{{Football squad player|no=11|pos=MF|nat=USA|name=Ethan Pitre}}{{Football squad player|no=12|pos=MF|nat=USA|name=Noe Ochoa}}{{Football squad mid}}{{Football squad player|no=13|pos=DF|nat=USA|name=Nicholas Haas}}{{Football squad player|no=14|pos=FW|nat=USA|name=Noah Brodie}}{{Football squad player|no=15|pos=FW|nat=GER|name=Jan Maertins}}{{Football squad player|no=17|pos=DF|nat=USA|name=Zavier Ware}}{{Football squad player|no=18|pos=MF|nat=USA|name=Artur Kielar}}{{Football squad player|no=20|pos=DF|nat=USA|name=Edmond Montano}}{{Football squad player|no=21|pos=FW|nat=USA|name=Adrian Coardos}}{{Football squad player|no=22|pos=DF|nat=ENG|name=Luke Read}}{{Football squad player|no=23|pos=FW|nat=USA|name=Sheriden Smith}}{{Football squad player|no=25|pos=MF|nat=USA|name=Logan Hatter}}{{Football squad player|no=26|pos=FW|nat=USA|name=Parker Moon}}{{Football squad player|no=27|pos=DF|nat=USA|name=Brady Manning}}{{Football squad player|no=31|pos=GK|nat=USA|name=Konrad Dziedzic}}{{Football squad end}}Coaching staffOn January 23, 2017, NIU announced Ryan Swan as the next men's soccer head coach.[4][5][6][7]
