It is found in fairly shallow waters in the western Pacific. It is characterised by a pattern of "papillate fringes" around the edge of the suckers near the arm tip.[2] Its length is less than {{convert|2.5|cm|in|0|abbr=on}} and it weighs less than {{convert|1|g|oz|2|abbr=on}}.
