The site was built during the Woodland period and is associated with the Havana Hopewell culture; it dates from roughly 100 B.C. to 400 A.D. The site consists of thirty-five mounds arranged in a crescent-shaped enclosure; the principal mound, located near the center, is {{convert|15|ft}} high. A village site is located near the principal mound; it and four of the smaller mounds form a pentagonal-shaped enclosure. While such enclosures were common among the Ohio Hopewell, the Ogden-Fettie Site has the only known one west of Ohio.[2] The site was added to the National Register of Historic Places on July 31, 1972.[1] References1. ^1 {{NRISref|version=2010a}} {{Hopewellian peoples}}{{National Register of Historic Places}}{{Illinois-NRHP-stub}}2. ^{{cite web|last1=Shields|first1=Wayne F.|title=National Register of Historic Places Inventory - Nomination Form: Ogden-Fettie|url=http://gis.hpa.state.il.us/pdfs/200511.pdf|publisher=Illinois Historic Preservation Agency|accessdate=October 24, 2015|date=July 7, 1971}} 4 : Archaeological sites on the National Register of Historic Places in Illinois|National Register of Historic Places in Fulton County, Illinois|Mounds in Illinois|Havana Hopewell culture |
