Reproductions are still sold in Paulownia-wood boxes—Paulownia is the symbol of the prime minister's office. Oishi Tengudo is the official manufacturer for competitive karuta in Japan. They are the only manufacturer producing versions of the Tenshō karuta, the earliest pattern of playing card produced in Japan.[2] References1. ^Pate, Alan.
