It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. The listing included four contributing buildings.[1] As of 1981, it was one of 23 extinct colonies in South Dakota out of 46 colonies which had been established up until then.[2] It includes the South Dwelling, which has a 1906 date upon it, the East Dwelling, a Dining Hall, and a Carpenter/Welding Shop.[3] References1. ^1 {{NRISref|version=2010a}} {{National Register of Historic Places}}{{SouthDakota-NRHP-stub}}2. ^{{cite web|url=https://npgallery.nps.gov/pdfhost/docs/NRHP/Text/64000795.pdf |title=Historic Hutterite Colonies Thematic Resources|author=James Stewart |author2=Carolyn Torma |date=June 30, 1981 |publisher=National Park Service}} 3. ^{{cite web|url={{NRHP url|id=82003941|photos=y}} |publisher=National Park Service|author= |date= |title=Old Spink Colony: six photos from 1979-81}} 4 : National Register of Historic Places in South Dakota|Buildings and structures completed in 1914|Spink County, South Dakota|Hutterites |
