The AIDS Foundation of Chicago (AFC) is a non-profit organization, based in Chicago, which is active in the field of HIV/AIDS and health equity. Its mission is to mobilize communities to create equity and justice for people living with and vulnerable to HIV and related chronic diseases. It works toward a world in which people living with HIV and related chronic diseases will thrive, and new HIV infections will be rare.[1] HistoryThe AIDS Foundation of Chicago was founded in 1985.[2] In 2012, the organization established community-based HIV testing and set up partnerships with medical homes to initiate care within 72 hours for individuals found to be HIV positive.[3] PartnersThe AFC was one of the founding organizations of the International Rectal Microbicide Advocates.
