The new Brigade was established in order to protect border with Egypt’s Sinai,[1] and, according to Andrea Spada, particularly the area extending from Nitsana, to the city of Eilat.[1] The brigade headquarters will be at Ketziot. StructureThe Paran Brigade will incorporate and consolidate in a single formation the mixed (male and female) Caracal and Bardalas battalions,[2] already serving within the 80th Division. The Paran Brigade is unique in relation to the rest of the IDF divisions as a regional and regular brigade.
