}}Petr Ježek (born 28 March 1965) is a Czech politician, public servant and diplomat currently serving as a Member of the European Parliament (MEP) representing Czech Republic since July 2014. He is a member of the ANO 2011, part of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe.^[1]

Since October 2014 Ježek has also served as Chair of the European Parliament Delegation for relations with Japan.

Career before politics

Ježek studied Economics of International Trade at the University of Economics, Prague, completing his education in 1987. From 1988 he worked in a number of diplomatic and public service roles within the Czech government. These roles included serving as Head of the Department for European Integration and Deputy Secretary of State for European Affairs and Director of the Prime Minister's Office for Vladimír Špidla.^[2]
