Visweswara Rao under the Jyothi Cine Syndicate banner,[2] and directed by C. S. Rao.[3] The film starred N. T. Rama Rao, Savitri, Shobhan Babu, Vijaya Nirmala in the lead roles[4] and music composed by K. V. Mahadevan.[5][6] PlotThe film begins in a village, Pettanalapalem, where it's President Jagannadham (Nagabhushanam) behave like a dictator and creates a lot of atrocities along with Sarpanch Butchaiah (Mukkamala), Munsif Achaiah (Rao Gopal Rao), Lakshmipathi (Allu Ramalingaiah) and Panchayati Gumustha Govindaiah (Dhulipala). Bhushayya, (Chittoor V. Nagaiah) a well-respected and kind-hearted person in the village, after the death of his first wife, who is Jaganadham’s sister he marries Ranganayakamma (Hemalatha). He has two sons, the elder one Suryam (Prabhakar Reddy) a spoiled brat is the first wife son and younger one Chandram (N. T. Rama Rao), a man with good ideologies who tries to protect the village from Bhushayya's cruel deeds. Suryam marries Jaganadham’s daughter Lakshmi (Savitri) and they have a son, Raja. On the occasion of Raja's learning of the alphabet ceremony Aksharabhyasam, a quarrel arises between two families that who has to perform the ritual when Chandram makes Bhushayya do so. Furious, Jaganadham sends his acolyte Kotayya (Satyanarayana) to kill Chandram when the new village doctor Rohini (Vijaya Nirmala) saves him and both fall in love. Suddenly, a beggar (Relangi) appears in the village who teaches morals while begging. Parallelly, Janakamma Bhushayya's sister-in-law has a daughter, Sarada (Sadhya Rani), Jagannathan sends his marriage proposal with Sarada, for which Janakamma refuses and arranges different alliance. But Jagannadham spoils it, in that anger, Bhushayya spits on his face. Now Jagannadham decides to take avenge against Bhushayya, so, he instigates Suryam against his father for his share in the property. Suryam files the case in the court, which leads to Bhushayya death. After that, Chandram gives away the entire property to his brother and leaves the house along with his mother. Chandram unites all the villagers and makes them oppose Jagannatham & his gang by establishing an union. At the same time, Mohan (Shobhan Babu), brother of Rohini enters as a Vigilance Officer to the village, who loves and marries Sarada. With the help of Chandram, he collects all the proof against Jagannatham and shuts down all their illegal activities. Frustrated, Jagannatham orders Kotaiah to kidnap Mohan & Rohini and also to burn away the entire crop of the villagers. Knowing it, Suryam also turns against Jagannatham and moves to stop their cruel act. Meanwhile, Chandram protects Mohan & Rohini. Here, the entire village bursts out with fire and moves together when the beggar turns as a police officer, appointed by the government to find out the criminal activities in the village. Finally, all the baddies are arrested, the entire family is reunited and the movie ends on a happy note with the marriage of Chandram & Rohini. Cast{{colbegin}}
