{{refimprove|date=February 2019}}Phoenix is a web development framework written in the functional programming language Elixir. Phoenix uses a server-side model-view-controller (MVC) pattern.[1] Based on the [https://hex.pm/packages/plug Plug] library, and ultimately the [https://ninenines.eu/docs/en/cowboy/2.4/guide/ Cowboy] Erlang framework, it was developed to provide highly performant and scalable web applications.
