It is the sixth private TV channel established in Cyprus{{cn|date=December 2015}}. Its first official broadcast took place on July 28, 2006. Initially called Axia Channel (period 2005-2006) and Astra TV (2000-2005) by the time of its first official broadcast it was renamed to CNC PLUS TV, with CNC meaning Cyprus New Channel. For the first several months the channel transmitted pilot music programs, especially children's songs. After six months of operation the channel was officially referred to as PLUS TV though the CNC was not dropped from the logo until August 2007. In September 2007 the channel changed ownership. This saw rapid improvements in the channel{{CN|date=December 2015}}. The station's program was enriched{{CN|date=December 2015}}, and included more Cypriot productions and partnership with Greek channels Alter Channel and Alpha TV.
