Sainte-Marie is a risk-taker, always chasing new sounds, and a plain talker when it comes to love and politics."[2] The Canadian music magazine Exclaim! also praised the album, with Stuart Henderson writing that "in fact, Power In The Blood might just be the best album she's made since the late 1960s."[3] AwardsIt won the 2015 Polaris Music Prize on September 21, 2015.[4] Sainte-Marie won the Americana Music Award for Free Speech at their 2015 ceremony. At the Juno Awards of 2016, the album won both Aboriginal Album of the Year and Contemporary Roots Album of the Year,[5] and Sainte-Marie was nominated for Songwriter of the Year for "Farm in the Middle of Nowhere", "Ke Sakihitin Awasis (I Love You Baby)" and "Love Charms (Mojo Bijoux)".[6] Track listing
