Several incomplete skulls have been found in the Barun Goyot and Djadochta formations, and were originally referred to the genus Mimeosaurus; the type species Priscagama gobiensis was named in 1984 when it was recognized that these skulls belonged to a distinct species.[1] Priscagama differs from most other priscagamids in having a more elongate, lightly-built skull. It is very similar in appearance to another priscagamid called Pleurodontagama, as the two can only be distinguished by the shape of their teeth.[2]]References1. ^1 2 {{cite journal |last=Borsuk-Białynicka |first=M. |author2=and Moody, S.M. |year=1984 |title=Priscagaminae, a new subfamily of the Agamidae (Sauria) from the Late Cretaceous of the Gobi Desert |journal=Acta Palaeontologica Polonica |volume=29 |issue=1-2 |pages=51–81 |url=https://www.app.pan.pl/article/item/app29-051.html}} 2. ^1 {{cite journal |last=Gao |first=K. |author2=and Norell, M. |year=2000 |title=Taxonomic composition and systematics of late Cretaceous lizard assemblages from Ukhaa Tolgod and adjacent localities, Mongolian Gobi Desert |journal=Bulletin of the American Museum of Natural History |volume=249 |pages=1–117 |url=http://hdl.handle.net/2246/1596}} 3. ^1 2 {{cite web |url=http://fossilworks.org/?a=taxonInfo&taxon_no=67603 |title=†Priscagama Borsuk-Bialynicka and Moody 1984 |work=Paleobiology Database |publisher=Fossilworks |accessdate=21 September 2016}}
