It is also known as the bastard cunningfish and the hedgehog butterflyfish. Scientific name{{Empty section|date=October 2015}}Habitat and rangeThe bastard cunningfish is limited to the two islands of Saint Helena and Ascension in the mid-Atlantic ridge. It is typically found on rocky reefs, between 12 and 35 metres depth, but is observable from 1 to 12 metres at Hummock Point.
