}} A Public Health Inspector (PHI) in Sri Lanka is an officer appointed by the Department of Health to maintain public health standards.[1][2] PHIs are selected through an entrance exam and undertake the Public Health Inspectors’ Diploma Course at the National Institute of Health Sciences (NIHS).
