Q42 is a notable Wikidata item, representing the author Douglas Adams. It has been used as the standard exemplar Wikidata item in several academic papers and published books.{{sfn | Proffitt | 2018 | p=147}}{{sfn | Ismayilov | Kontokostas | Auer | Lehmann | 2016 | p=2 }}{{sfn | Erxleben | Günther | Krötzsch | Mendez | 2014 | p=3 }}{{sfn | Vrandečić | Krötzsch | 2014 }}{{sfn|Samuel|2018|p=2}}. The use of the number 42 as the code for this item is a kind of joke about the original sentence in his famous books: "the answer to the ultimate question of life, the universe and everything is 42".[1]References1. ^[https://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/history/42-the-answer-to-life-the-universe-and-everything-2205734.html 42: THE ANSWER TO LIFE, THE UNIVERSE AND EVERYTHING], The independent, 6 February 2011
