She is best known for producing and acting in BuzzFeed Video content and the series Girl Who Has Never Been on a Nice Date.[1][2] A pilot she co-produced with Larry Wilmore and Jermaine Fowler is currently in development at CBS.[3] Early lifeBrunson was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.[4] She attended Temple University before dropping out to pursue a career in comedy.[5] CareerBrunson garnered fans online by posting comedic videos to her Instagram in 2014.[6] In particular, her Girl Who Has Never Been on a Nice Date series went viral and grew her digital fanbase.[6][7][8] She then worked as a video producer for BuzzFeedVideo after first freelancing for the company.[9] Her videos primarily focused on problems experienced by twentysomethings.[10] In 2016, Brunson sold two web series as a development partner with BuzzFeed Motion Pictures:[11] one scripted comedy called Broke for Youtube Red, which she wrote, produced, and starred in;[1][12] the second was called Up for Adoption, and was produced by Verizon's go90 video platform, which she also starred in.[7] Brunson's performance in Broke was nominated for Best Acting in a Comedy at the Streamy Awards in 2017.[13] She left Buzzfeed in 2018.[8] Early in 2018, she co-starred in a CW pilot called The End of the World as We Know it, her first network pilot.[2] The show was not picked up by the network. She also wrote and produced a series called Quinta vs. Everything that streams on Facebook Watch.[5][8] On October 4, 2018, it was announced that a pilot co-produced by Brunson, Larry Wilmore, and Jermaine Fowler will be developed by CBS into a multi-cam comedy.[3] The pilot is called Quinta & Jermaine, and Fowler and Brunson will also star as longtime friends who must deal with an unplanned pregnancy.
