He received 30,153 votes and defeated Raja Sheraz Haider, a candidate of Pakistan Muslim League (N) (PML-N).[2] He was re-elected to the Provincial Assembly of the North-West Frontier Province as a candidate of Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal from Constituency PF-49 (Haripur-I) in Pakistani general election, 2008.
