He received rave reviews for the blockbuster movie, Arjun Reddy.[1][2] Early lifeRaju was born in Suryapet, Nalgonda, Telangana. His father, Thota Venkat, worked as a make-up artist for Telugu actor, Mohan Babu. He showed keen interest in photography since an early age.[3] CareerRaju joined as an assistant for the cinematographer, T. Surendra Reddy and Mohana Krishna.[4] He also worked in Bollywood as an Assistant cinematographer, Ishqiya, Do Lafzon Ki Kahani, Force 2 and R... Rajkumar. He also worked as assistant cinematographer for the director, Mani Shankar. He worked as assistant cinematographer for the hit movie, Pelli Choopulu, where he was noticed and recommended to the movie by actor Vijay Devarakonda. He replaced cinematographer, Nagesh Banel, as he had differences with the film director for Arjun Reddy. Arjun ReddyRaju made his debut as cinematographer with the movie, Arjun Reddy. It was critically acclaimed. He used mood-based lighting extensively in the second half, in which the hero's character descends into suffering. Raj prefers to work in natural sunlight and outdoor.
