Baradia is about five km southeast of Dwarka. There are some temples near the coast within the limits of the village.[1] HistoryThese temples were built in late 12th century during the reign of Bhima II of Chaulukya dynasty in Gujarat.[2] These are the earliest extant Vaishnava temples in Gujarat.[1] These temples are declared the Monuments of National Importance (N-GJ-125) and maintained by the Archaeological Survey of India. ArchitectureThese are Maru-Gurjara style temples standing on high moulded plinth (jagati).[2][3] They are unicellular temples with four compartments; a cella, an antarala (between cella and hall), a sabhamandapa (hall) and a porch. There is no images of either Rama, Lakshmana, Samba or Lakshmana Kumara in the cella of these temples now.[1][4] They are contemporary of Navlakha Temple, Ghumli and has several similarities such as plinth and sculptures. Even sculptures of Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva are on the kumbha of bhadras is placed in similar fashion. In plan, they are similar to temple at Sunak except two free standing pillars of the porch.[5][6][7] The western temple facing east is very old and has well carved sculptures.[1][7] Other nearby temples of importance include the Sun temple, Chandrabhaga temple and a Bethak of Mahaprabhu.[8] GalleryReferences{{commonscat|Ram Lakshman Temple, Baradia}}1. ^1 2 3 {{cite book|author=Haripriya Rangarajan|title=Spread of Vaiṣṇavism in Gujarat Up to 1600 A.D.: A Study with Special Reference to the Iconic Forms of Viṣṇu|url=https://books.google.com/books?id=VlfkAAAAMAAJ|year=1990|publisher=Somaiya Publications|isbn=978-81-7039-192-0|pages=12, 43, 141}} {{Hindu temples in Gujarat}}{{coord missing|Gujarat}}2. ^{{cite book|author=Pramod Chandra|title=Studies in Indian Temple Architecture: Papers Presented at a Seminar Held in Varanasi, 1967|url=https://books.google.com/books?id=RnPqAAAAMAAJ|year=1975|publisher=American Institute of Indian Studies|page=128}} 3. ^{{cite book|title=Journal of the Asiatic Society|url=https://books.google.com/books?id=97EeAQAAMAAJ|volume=15-19|year=1973|publisher=Asiatic Society|location=Culcutta|page=34}} 4. ^{{cite book|author1=Krishna Deva|author2=Lallanji Gopal|author3=Shri Bhagwan Singh|title=History and art: essays on history, art, culture, and archaeology presented to Prof. K.D.
