Professional wrestling career

Muehl became a professional wrestler in 1981 after being trained by Jerry and Ted Oates.

World Championship Wrestling (1988 - 1989)

Bearing a physical resemblance to then World Wrestling Federation champion Hulk Hogan, Muehl took on the character Randy Hogan. Jim Crockett Promotions used Muehl as an enhancement talent. He made his debut on the February 13 episode of World Championship Wrestling (WCW) when he teamed with Steve Atkinson and Gene Miller to take on Ivan Koloff and the Powers of Pain. Hogan appeared sporadically in the spring and summer, facing The Powers of Pain, Rick Steiner, The Midnight Express and others in various matches. On the December 31, 1988 edition of WCW Hogan teamed with Mike Justice to face The Texas Broncos in Dustin Rhodes' debut match.[2] His final match in his initial run was against The Road Warriors on the January 28, 1989 episode of WCW.[3][4]

World Wrestling Federation (1989 - 1990, 1993)

Four months later Muehl began appearing in the World Wrestling Federation (WWF). Having removed his Hogan-esque mustache, he adopted the ring name of Scott Colton and made his debut on May 21 episode of Wrestling Challenge where he wrestled Dino Bravo. Colton was winless in his first year with the company, facing wrestlers such as Mr. Perfect, The Ultimate Warrior, and Million Dollar Champion Ted DiBiase.[5] In 1990 he continued on as an enhancement talent, wrestling Rick Rude, Earthquake, and The Warlord. After not making an appearance in 1991 or 1992, Muehl returned on the January 10, 1993 episode of Wrestling Challenge when he teamed with Carl Armont in an unsuccessful effort against The Headshrinkers.[6]

World Championship Wrestling (1994)

Muehl jumped back to WCW in 1994. Having grown back his familiar mustache, he took on the name of Randy Hogan once more. His return match was on the January 22 episode of WCW Worldwide when he faced Vader. On the April 4 episode of WCW Worldwide he teamed with PJ Walker in a match against The Nasty Boys.[7] At the signing ceremony of Hulk Hogan on June 11, 1994, Muehl was cast as a reporter fielding questions to WCW's latest acquisition.[8]

Personal life

Muehl retired from pro wrestling in the 1990s. In 2010 he opened a restaurant in Lakeland, FL called Cedar Creek Seafood.[9]
