The design is out of production.[1][2][3] ProductionThe boat was built by Ranger Yachts/Bangor Punta in the United States starting in 1969, with 474 examples completed by the time production ended in 1978.[1] DesignThe Ranger 33 is a small recreational keelboat, built predominantly of fiberglass, with wood trim. It has a masthead sloop rig, an internally-mounted spade-type rudder and a fixed fin keel. It displaces {{convert|10500|lb|kg|0|abbr=on}} and carries {{convert|4500|lb|kg|0|abbr=on}} of lead ballast. The boat has a draft of {{convert|5.00|ft|m|abbr=on}} with the standard keel.[1][2] The boat is fitted with a Universal Atomic 4 {{convert|30|hp|kW|0|abbr=on}} gasoline engine, although later during production a Universal diesel engine was also offered as an option. It has a {{convert|21|u.s.gal}} fuel tank and a {{convert|21|u.s.gal}} fresh water tank.[1] On earlier models tiller steering was standard with wheel steering optional, but wheel steering later became standard.[1] The boat has a hull speed of {{convert|6.87|kn|km/h|2|abbr=on}}.[2] Variants
