Premise

An iconic Australian story of family, friendship and adventure, between a young boy and a scrappy one-of-a-kind dog that would grow up to become an Australian legend.^[2]

P hoenix as Red Dog. He was played in the first film by Koko, but was replaced after his death and the film is dedicated to his memory.^[3]

The film grossed $5,218,716 at the Australian box office, a quarter of the original film's takings.^[6]

Accolades

Geoffrey Hall was nominated for Best Cinematography at the 7th AACTA Awards.
