Regina Quintanilha (1893-1967) was the first Portuguese woman to obtain a law degree at the University of Coimbra.[1] Despite the law prohibiting women to practice in law, on November 14, 1913, Quintanilha received the authorization of the President of the Supreme Court of Justice to advocate, which was the day she wore the robes of lawyers at the Court of Good Time in Lisbon.[2] In Portugal, she was once again the first woman to hold the functions of Conservator of the Land Registry and Notary Public.
