Distribution and habitatRhopalocarpus alternifolius is known only from populations in the northern and northeastern regions of Diana, Sava, Alaotra Mangoro, Analanjirofo and Atsinanana.[4] Its habitat is humid evergreen and dry deciduous forests from sea-level to {{convert|1000|m|-2|abbr=on}} altitude. Some populations are within protected areas.[[4]]ThreatsRhopalocarpus alternifolius is threatened by shifting patterns of agriculture.
