He served as the head football coach at Central College in Pella, Iowa from 1938 to 1944 and from 1946 to 1960, compiling a record of 86–89–7. Tysseling attended Central College, where lettered four times each in football, basketball, baseball, and track before graduating in 1932.[1] He died in 1997 in Pella, Iowa, at the age of 86,
