It was built as a women's dormitory.[2] Its construction cost $30,000, and it was completed in 1906, with remodels in 1925 and 1948.[3] The building was named in honor of W.G. Ritch, who served as the president of the board of regents of WNMU from 1902 to 1904.[3] It was designed in the Mission Revival style by architect Charles Frederick Whittlesey in 1906, and an extension was designed by architect John Gaw Meem in 1950.[3] It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since September 22, 1988.[1] References1. ^1 {{NRISref|version=2013a}} {{National Register of Historic Places}}{{DEFAULTSORT:Ritch Hall}}{{NewMexico-NRHP-stub}}2. ^{{cite book |last1=Bardal |first1=Jane |title=Southwestern New Mexico Mining Towns |date=2011 |publisher=Arcadia Publishing |location=Charleston, South Carolina |isbn=9780738579276|oclc=663953594 |page=55 |url=https://books.google.com/books?id=62UlvAuu-7kC&pg=PA55&lpg=PA55&dq=Ritch+Hall+new+mexico&source=bl&ots=2rhwnLNc64&sig=ACfU3U09VPpkI-TIDDNCcRCFLmy1cuHdfg&hl=en&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwiMypmb-ZXgAhWRRhUIHYVzBCQQ6AEwDXoECBIQAQ#v=onepage&q=Ritch%20Hall%20new%20mexico&f=false}} 3. ^1 2 {{cite web|url={{NRHP url|id=88001557}}|title=National Register of Historic Places Inventory/Nomination: Ritch Hall |publisher=National Park Service|author= |date= |accessdate=January 30, 2019}} With {{NRHP url|id=88001557|photos=y|title=accompanying pictures}} 6 : National Register of Historic Places in Grant County, New Mexico|Mission Revival architecture in New Mexico|School buildings completed in 1906|School buildings on the National Register of Historic Places in New Mexico|University and college dormitories in the United States|Western New Mexico University |
