Tribune Media announced plans for the site in October 2017.[1] The site currently hosts a printing facility used by Tribune Media, and has been discussed as potential site for redevelopment since 2016.[2] Plans for the site were approved by the city in October 2018,[3] and in February 2019, Tribune Media listed the site for sale, potentially in a bid to find a codeveloper.[4] The company is currently codeveloping a complex at 700 W. Chicago Avenue with real estate company Riverside Investment & Development. The River District is one of several large-scale redevelopments either planned or under construction in Chicago.
