}}Rod Phillips (born March 2, 1965) is the former chair of Postmedia (2014–2017) and former president and CEO of the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (2011–2014) as well as the former chair of CivicAction (2014-2017).[1] He has also been president of personnel services company Shepell-fgi (2002-2010).[2][1]

From 1997 to 2000, Phillips was chief of staff for the then-Mayor of Toronto,

Mel Lastman.[3] He later acted as director of the leader's tour for Ontario Progressive Conservative Party leader John Tory during the 2007 provincial election.[2]

Following the resignation of Patrick Brown as party leader on January 25, 2018, Phillips was touted as a possible successor as PC Party of Ontario leader.[4] However, Phillips chose not to run for leader and instead endorsed Caroline Mulroney in the PC leadership election.[5]

In the 2018 provincial election he ran as a candidate for the Ontario Progressive Conservative Party in the redistributed riding of Ajax. He defeated New Democrat candidate Monique Hughes and Liberal Joe Dickson to win the riding.[6] On June 29, 2018, Phillips was appointed to cabinet as Minister of the Environment, Conservation and Parks.[7]
