LifeBorn in Logroño, he joined the Society of Jesus in 1606 when he was 14 years old.[2]{{Dead link|date=September 2017}} When Prague was conquered by the imperial troops in 1620, he moved there, playing a key role in securing the Jesuit control over Bohemian schools and universities. From 1624 he taught philosophy in Valladolid and theology in Prague.[3] He was chancellor at Charles University from 1642 to 1653 and become prefect at Collegio Clementino in 1654.[4] Works
