BackgroundRaymond was born in 1967 in Auckland, New Zealand.[1][2] CareerRaymond is a member of the Pacific and Māori collective, Pacific Sisters.[3] In 2010 Raymond launched the SaVAge K'lub project at the Queensland Art Gallery. The project in an installation space that has hosted artworks, spoken word, and performance art from over twenty five artists, including Ani O'Neill, Grace Taylor, and Suzanne Tamaki.[2] In 2008, with Amiria Manutahi Salmond, Raymond published Pasifika Styles: Artists Inside the Museum.[4] Raymond is an Honorary Research Associate at the Department of Anthropology and Institute of Archaeology at University College London.[5] In 2017 she gave the Peter Turner Memorial Lecture at Massey University.[6] Raymond also works as an exhibition curator.
