He attended Valentines High School, a comprehensive state school in Ilford, before attending London Academy of Excellence, a selective state sixth-form college.[3] In November 2015, Holmes was elected as a Youth Councillor for the London Borough of Newham,[4] where he served as its’ mental health lead, working to secure funding for a £10 million youth mental health project for the borough.[5] In November 2016 he was elected to serve a second term as a Youth Councillor.
