Salaya ({{lang-th|ศาลายา}}) is a tambon (sub-district) of Amphoe Phutthamonthon, Nakhon Pathom Province, central Thailand, located in the west of Bangkok considered as part of Bangkok Metropolitan Region. In 2017 it had a population of 9,784 people, Salaya contains six mubans (village). The word Salaya meaning "medicine pavilion", the reason that it got this name was because in the reign of King Mongkut (Rama IV), he ordered the digging of a khlong (canal), Khlong Maha Sawat through this area and building a sala (Thai pavilion) throughout two banks of the khlong and became the name of various places around this area until today. For Salaya is a sala that contains textbooks about traditional Thai medicine including served as a first aid station for the people. Because it is close to Bangkok therefore making Salaya have many important places such as Phutthamonthon, Utthayan Avenue, Mahidol University, Salaya railway station, Thai Film Archive, Naval Education Department etc. The prominent department store in the area, CentralPlaza Salaya, indeed, it is located in the area of Tambon Bang Toei, Amphoe Sam Phran.
