A member of the Minnesota Democratic–Farmer–Labor Party (DFL), she represents District 40B in the northwestern Twin Cities metropolitan area. Early life, education, and careerVang was born and raised in north Minneapolis. Her parents are Hmong refugees from Thailand.[1] She graduated from Robbinsdale Armstrong High School. She attended Gustavus Adolphus College, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in political science and communications.[2] Minnesota House of RepresentativesVang was first elected to the Minnesota House of Representatives in 2018.
