It runs from the Alberta border near Empress, Alberta to Highway 32 in Leader. Highway 741 is about {{cvt|45|km}} long.[1] Highway 741 crosses the South Saskatchewan River via the Estuary Ferry. HistoryHighway 741 was originally designated as part of Provincial Highway 21, which connected Leader with Macklin and Lloydminster.[2] In the 1930s, it was renumbered to Provincial Highway 32 while the north-south section was renumbered to Provincial Highway 17.[3] In the 1940s, Provincial Highway 32 west of Leader was decommissioned, along with the section of Provincial Highway 17 south of Macklin.[4] The route remained unnumbered until the municipal numbering system was established in the early 1980s.[5][6] Major intersectionsFrom west to east:[7] {{SKinttop|length_ref=[1]}}{{Jctplace|county_special=Chesterfield No. 261 |cspan=3 |location=none |km=0.0 |place=Alberta – Saskatchewan border Continues as {{Jct|province=AB|Hwy|562|dir1=west|city1=Empress}} }}{{SKint |location=none |km=1.9 |road=Range Road 33283 |notes=Former {{Roadlink|province=SK|Hwy|17}} north }}{{SKint |location=none |type=concur |km=14.9 |road={{Jct|province=SK|Mun|635|dir1=east}} |notes=Hwy 741 branches north; west end of Hwy 635 concurrency }}{{Jctplace |state=SK |county_special=↑ / ↓ |location=Estuary |km=19.2 |place={{Jct|province=SK|extra=ferry}} Estuary Ferry crosses South Saskatchewan River }}{{SKint |county_special=Deer Forks No. 232 |location=none |type=concur |km=25.2 |road={{Jct|province=SK|Mun|635|dir1=south|city1=Burstall}} |notes=Hwy 741 branches east; east end of Hwy 635 concurrency }}{{SKint |county_special=Happyland No. 231 |location=Leader |km=44.6 |road={{Jct|province=SK|Hwy|21|city1=Eatonia|city2=Maple Creek}} |notes= }}{{Jctbtm|keys=concur}} References1. ^1 2 {{google maps|title=Highway 741 in Saskatchewan|url=https://www.google.ca/maps/dir/50.971983,-110.0047452/50.8925391,-109.5365468/@50.9146822,-109.903226,11.04z/data=!4m9!4m8!1m5!3m4!1m2!1d-109.7280167!2d50.8924739!3s0x53120c4d919fc5db:0x334e0fa122411fa2!1m0!3e0?hl=en|accessdate=February 14, 2018}} {{Saskatchewan Provincial Highways}}2. ^{{cite map|author=Province of Saskatchewan|title=Highway Map|url=http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~canmaps/1926/sask-highway-map.html|publisher=Department of Highways|date=1926|archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20170829073841/http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~canmaps/1926/sask-highway-map.html|archivedate=August 29, 2017}} 3. ^{{cite map|title=Road map of Western and Central Canada|url=http://www.davidrumsey.com/luna/servlet/detail/RUMSEY~8~1~281161~5515481:Road-map-of-Western-and-Central-Can?sort=pub_list_no_initialsort%2Cpub_list_no_initialsort%2Cpub_date%2Cpub_date|author=Rand McNally|date=1940|publisher=Rand McNally and Company}} 4. ^{{cite map|author = The H.M.
