释义 |
A school gun raffle is a fund-raising technique used by schools in the United States. In a typical arrangement, the booster club sells tickets to a series of drawings, for example ten guns in ten days, or fifty-two guns, one each week for a year. The winner must stipulate that he or she is eligible to own a gun, then takes delivery from a participating gun shop. A writer for a magazine for gun enthusiasts praised the concept.[1] The practice, while widespread, has been criticized. A proposed raffle at Comeaux High School was cancelled after complaints from parents.[2] Lucama Elementary School implemented a rule that students could not buy tickets.[3] References1. ^{{cite news|last1=Shelton|first1=Elwood|title=Gun Raffle to Support a School?|url=https://gundigest.com/reviews/gun-raffle-support-school|accessdate=13 January 2018|publisher=Gun Digest|date=March 17, 2015}} 2. ^{{cite news|last1=Hensley|first1=Nicole|title=Gun raffle at Louisiana high school canceled amid complaints|url=http://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/gun-raffle-louisana-high-school-canceled-complaints-article-1.1953000|accessdate=13 January 2018|publisher=New York Daily News|date=September 25, 2014}} 3. ^{{cite news|last1=Klein|first1=Rebecca|title=North Carolina Elementary School To Raffle Off Rifle For Fundraiser|url=https://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/08/30/school-raffle-rifle_n_3844571.html|accessdate=13 January 2018|publisher=Huffington Post|date=August 30, 2013}} 1 : Fundraising |
