Scroggins Aviation is an American aircraft salvage and aviation movie special effects company based in Las Vegas, Nevada.^[1] It has provided special effects for several network television shows and feature films.

History

The company was founded by its namesake, James Douglas Scroggins III.^[2]^[1]^[2]^[3]^[4] Initially the company operated in the aircraft dismantling, crash recovery and recycling industry, taking apart decommissioned airplanes and supplied aviation mockups.^[5]^[6] The company changed its name in 2015 to Scroggins Aviation Mockup & Effects, ^[7] ^[8] ^[9], and began to focus on the restoration and modification of airframes and cockpits for use in feature film and television productions.^[10] This has included both the interior and exterior of various aircraft^[11] and helicopters, fabricating both airplane parts and fuselage sections for filming.^[12]

A selection of films that used Scroggins to produce aviation materials for its sets include Bumblebee (film)",^[13]",Deadpool 2",^[14]",Jurassic World,^[15]",Civil War",^[16]",, Terminator Genisys,^[17]^[10] Homecoming^[18], Dunkirk ^[19], Iron Man 3, Sully,^[20] The Fate of the Furious,^[21] Resurgence, Welcome to the Jungle^[22], Fifty Shades Darker,^[5] and Flight.^[23] Television series for which Scroggins has designed sets have included The Event, Pan Am,^[24] Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., The Night Shift, and The Last Ship.^[12]
