Shargiyya Veliyeva ({{lang-az|Şərqiyyə Əkbər qızı Vəliyeva}}; born 1 July 1936), is an Azerbaijani farmer and politician, former member of the Supreme Soviet of Azerbaijani SSR.

Shargiya Valiyeva was born in 1 July 1936 year, in the village of Pichanis in the Lachin region in a peasant family.[1]

After graduating from high school in 1949, she joined the Kirov collective farm, where she started working as a dairy. She participated in the VDNKh Union-wide Exposition. She distinguished herself by fulfilling the tasks of the plan of the seventh five-year plan, having received one calf from each cow and feeding each cow 7400 liters of milk, and the plan of the IX five-year plan was also fulfilled for 3 years and 10 months.[2]

By the decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of 22 March 1966, received the title of Hero of Socialist Labor with the prize of the Order of Lenin and the gold medal of the Sickle and the Hammer.

She actively participated in the social and political life of Azerbaijan. In 1952, she joined the Komsomol, in 1965 the Communist Party of the Soviet Union and since 1997 is member of the New Azerbaijan Party. She was elected deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the Azerbaijan SSR at the seventh and eighth convocation.[3]

In 1971, Veliyev received the title of Mother Heroine and in 2002, under the decree of President Heydar Aliyev, she was awarded a "presidential scholarship".[4]

After the occupation of Lachin, Shamilya Valiyeva settled in the village of Zümurkhan, in the region of Barda.[5]

Shargia Valiyeva was married to Sabir Valiyev and four of Shargia Valiyeva's children participated in the Nagorno-Karabakh War. Her son Fuzuli Veliyev was military pilot of the helicopter Mil Mi-24 of the Air Force of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Captain Fuzuli Veliyev, who had 252 flights and continued his service in the rank of captain, was killed while performing his military service in 2003.[6]
