The Sikorsky S-1 was the first fixed wing aircraft design by Igor Sikorsky. In February 1910 work began on the pusher configured biplane powered by a {{convert|15|hp|kW|0|abbr=on}} Anzani three-cylinder, air-cooled engine. The machine was completed in April and Sikorsky began his first attempts at flight. In early May during a take-off attempt on a windy day the machine briefly became airborne due mostly to the fact it had a favorable headwind. Further attempts were less successful and Sikorsky disassembled it, saving the main wing section to construct the S-2.[1] Specifications{{Aircraft specs |ref=Russian Aviation Museum[2] |prime units?=imp |genhide= |crew=One |capacity= |length m=8 |length ft= |length in= |upper span m=8 |upper span ft= |upper span in= |upper span note= |lower span m= |lower span ft= |lower span in= |lower span note= |height m= |height ft= |height in= |wing area sqm=24 |wing area sqft= |wing area note= |aspect ratio= |airfoil= |empty weight kg=180 |empty weight lb= |empty weight note= |gross weight kg=250 |gross weight lb= |gross weight note= |fuel capacity= |more general=
