He grew up in a dangerous neighborhood and was in and out of juvenile detention as a young adult.[4] Arias was educated at Youngstown-Ursuline where he captained the football team in his senior year when they became state champions.[5] He received a football scholarship to Mercyhurst University in Erie, Pennsylvania where he became team captain and graduated from Mercyhurst College with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Management (2001 – 2005).[6] CareerAfter graduating from the university, Arias was hired by the Surace-Smith Agencies of American Income Life in Ohio and later become a Regional Manager in the company.[7] Arias is currently the State General Agent for Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Maryland, Tennessee, & Florida.[8] Arias has been a member of AIL’s Executive Council and he is the only SGA in company history to be named State General Agent of the Year for two consecutive years.[7] In May 2008, Simon founded Arias Agencies, a representative of American Income Life Insurance Company.[9][10] PhilanthropyArias established community programs in his hometown of Youngstown, OH. He helped bring the youth program, Inspiring Minds, to Youngstown, and he has partnered with Maurice Clarett to open The Red Zone, a company whose mission is to help youth at-risk and their families.[11][12][13] Awards and honors
