Sir Simon Christopher Townsend Robey (born July 1960)^[1] is a British investment banker and supporter of cultural organisations^[2]^[3].

Education and career

Simon attended Reed's School in Cobham before moving onto Magdalen College, Oxford as a choral scholar to read English.

Robey was co-chairman of global mergers and acquisition at Morgan Stanley.^[4]^[5] In 2013, Robey founded the boutique investment bank Robey Warshaw with Philip Apostolides and Simon Warshaw.^[6]

Cultural work

Robey joined the board of the Royal Opera House on 1 July 2006,^[7]^[8] and was its Chair until 2017.^[9]^[10] In 2016 he also became the Chair of Aldeburgh Music (now known as Snape Maltings). Robey was knighted in the Queen's Birthday Honours for 2016 "for services to Music".^[11]

Personal life

Robey was adopted as a child and grew up in Cambridge. Robey is married to Victoria Hull. He has three daughters and three step-children. ^[12]
