A woollen merchant,[2] he married firstly Eliza Vickermann(d 1855), secondly Amelia Dewar (d 1901) and thirdly Mary Forster. He was also a Chairman of Quarter Sessions for the West Riding of Yorkshire and Commanding Officer of the 5th Administrative Battalion, Yorkshire West Riding Rifle Volunteer Corps.[3] References1. ^Sir.
